Does anyone out there have a Castagnari Sander? If so, what do you think of it?

Steve

I have one which must about 14 - 15 years old now. I've always been pleased with it - I've only had to tweak one of the bass reeds otherwise its been perfect.  I've never taken it out for Morris so its led a fairly sheltered existence. It's not as fast as  my Dino Baffeti but its bigger and is a three voice box. Its quite light, well built and a good size and the third voice is good for playing continental style in the top octave.  Up until recently Tim van Eyken has used one as his standard box although he has better reeds in his. As other people have remarked quality and feel varies from box to box even the same make and model so its well worth trying several out. I'm sure there are a couple of other people on the forum who play them and may comment.

Simon
