Well, I just purchased this box off of ebay about two weeks ago, and decided to clean it up. I know it is a Hohner and it is in the key of G. That is about it. I started by stripping all of the old tape of off it, cleaning all the metal, and refinishing the wood. It looks much better now and still sounds good. My question is, can anyone tell me what it is? Model, Year, that sort of thing. I have looked all over the Web and can not find anything close to it. On the top of it, it says MARCA REGISTRATA HOHNER MADE IN GERMANY. Thanks for your help, Kevin http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t31/kevincatlin/IMG_4210.jpg (BEFORE RESTORE) http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t31/kevincatlin/IMG_4261.jpg (AFTER RESTORE)

It's a Vienna type 1-row, probably 1930's. This finish was used on the two-row pokerwork as well. Theo Gibb should be able to be more specific.

I don't think I can add much. Historical information on Hohner boxes is generally pretty hazy. I agree it is a pre-WW2 model, and the same model continued in production after the war and the finish was changed to gold/black similar to the 2-row pokerwork. I've only ever seen them in either C or G.
