Hello Nart
I have a web page with links to the web sites of many makers - it's at
http://www.rogermillington.com/siamsa/brosteve/irishboxlinks.html#makers. There are also links to a few stores that stock accordions, so you can get an idea of retail prices.
Which makes are best? Opinions vary, and it depends very much what style of accordion you want.
Prices will vary too - you can pay as little as US $1000 or as much as five times that amount depending on the maker, but also the number of rows, number of voices, number of basses etc.
There's the matter of waiting times, too. Some models are stocked by stores, others will take 3-6 months to order from a factory, and the best individual makers have waiting lists of up to 2 years!
If you can give us an idea of what type of music you want to play, people here might be able to give you more specific advice.
