Is anyone else going this year?  I've been wanting to go for a couple of years and this time it doesn't clash with Folk Camp so I'm off.  It's 13th - 18th August in Durham and sounds great.  Tim Van Eyken's teaching the Melodeon and there are great ensemble workshops, as well as lots of unofficial stuff I'm told.  Details and application form availablel from Sara Barnard [sara.barnard@thesagegateshead.org]. I can't wait.  Will I see any Melnetters there?  Karl.

Hi Karl

Well I'll be there. I have been to every one since the Adult version started in about 1996. Inthe last few years I've been there to help with the admin - its nice to be able to put something back in.

Anyway I'm pretty familiar with how it all works so if you have any questions, fire away.

Oh and it is a fantastic week.

Great.  Yes, I think it was you that first recommended it to me Theo, so thanks.  I'm very much looking forward to it.   A whole week dedicated to playing the Melodeon.  What could be finer!

I've just had a mail to say there are still places available on the Adult Summer School and pointing me to a great link here:

There's summer school brochures, photos, tunes and other information on there, and a load of other useful info too for anyone interested in music in the north-east.
