I'm sure the topic is well covered in earlier threads, but the host won't allow me to g back far enough to find it!Can anyone advise on the preffered glue to use and technique? I'm wondering whether PVA is the replacement for Copydex - it seems about right and should remain flexible. Does one fold the tape before applying it? What clamps (if any) are needed?Blew out the bellows on my Hohner 4-stop in C the other day. Swapped for those on the G box and then took the wrong one to a gig - bellows flew across the floor, leaving me holding the ends!

PVA is fine, in fact probably longer lasting than Copydex.

No need to fold the tape first, and if you are doing the whole bellows you can speed up the glue application by spreading it with a spatula on a smooth non-absorbent surface than lay the strips of tape onto the glue. I usually do 5 or 6 at a time. It should not be necessary to clamp the individual folds, but once the whole bellows is done, wipe off any surplus glue and place a heavy weight on the bellows. It is also a good idea to place stripes cut from plastic bags into the corners so that glue that gets squeezed out does not stick the folds together.

I'd certainly be happy following Theo's guidance here, but purely as an alternative take I re-taped the bellows on the 4-stop shown in my Avatar with peel-off-the-backing type carpet tape over 20 years ago and it's lasted well. The only downside was having to cut the strips to size from a wide roll. The plus was not having to work with wet glue.
