Hi to all!Well... I'm come back from my holiday in Ireland (two weeks in Ennis... WOW) and I've find the accordion that I have buy on e-bay... an old Hohner Erika (not Erica). Now I've a question: a my friend is an piano accordion maker (sometime box maker) and he can replace the reeds to convert to C#D tuning... but... the other 4 buttons?Someone have an idea?

This following setup for the half-row is standard on Saltarelle Connemara II C#/D models:
push/pull)
[Knee end]
E/D
B/A
G/G#
E/Fnat
[Chin end]

So that's what I ordered on my Serenellini 23+4. It makes many full 3-note chords available - some in both directions (e.g. G major and B minor). It also gives you a lot of "triangles" if you want to avoid bellows changes and you can play from D to f# entirely in both directions. I'm sure other layouts are possible but I didn't want to agonize too much.

Also, perversely, I'm deliberately not making much use of the half row because I don't want to become dependent on an unusual layout, but I do like to have those chords handy, and I also enjoy using the half-row for playing slow airs because you can make much better use of the basses.

for what its worth my choice wold be

from chin

push         pull

Eflat          F

G              G#

Bflat          C

Eflat(higher) D

this set up would facilitate playing in G, C & F as well as providing added chords compared with  2 row. It may also be possible to fit in a full reed block (& extra 6 buttons) to give a full Eflat row inside row
