A little while ago someone poseted a thread about musical instrument megastore and their cheep prices.I ended up buying from them. I have been far and wide to try out melodeons and was thinking theSaltarelle Le Bouebeas it seemed at a realistic price and was quite nice. I had also tryed some high end bexes that I knew I couldent afford like the tommy lilly, various castagnaris and beltuna. I realy like the beltuna melodeon but at ?250 I knew I shouldent be concidering that. Then theres this shop:http://www.musicalinstrumentmegastore.co.uk/itmidx2.htmthat seemed to sell the beltuna model I liked for little over the price of the bouebe Jumping at the chance I called them (suspicious of their prices)a few months later and here I am with a beltuna melodeon (even though the price was reduced it was hard work getting all that money. We had fun sorting through the crp in the garage to sell some stuff on ebay)I was tempted by the lilly they sold, I like the sound and size of those. Yes this is a trustworthy store that seems to be run from home though with prices so low I bet they dont earn that much. Downside is: you dont get any free garentee or free repairs for the first year if anything goes wrong.

Check the small print! Their website claims that you have the benefit of "the manufacturer's waranty". They also talk about your "statutory rights" as laid down in the Sale of Goods Act, 1972 (has it been amended since?). As you have entered into a contract with MIM it's their problem if things go wrong in the waranty period.

Having said that, I hope the Beltuna never goes wrong and you have a great time playing it.

Hope you enjoy the Beltuna.

I'm always a bit dubious about UK websites or paper catalogues that quote prices without VAT. Its reasonable enough if you are selling to other businesses which are also VAT registered, but this one is clearly aimed at retail customers who will all have to pay the VAT. It just strikes me as an underhand way of making a first impression of low prices, and then the final price including tax only shows up at the end of the checkout process.
